Recipe of the Month: A Simple Baked Cheese Cake

This week for me has started with a baking spree. There were so many recipes that I needed to try and test and I finally get some time to do it! I love the aroma in my kitchen this week and my kitchen is happy!!  I am always in love with Cheese cake…. Any kind and in any form... I am a cheese cake fanatic!!!  Today I am going to share with you this cheese cake recipe which is basic and simple.

Ingredients for Base

Digestive Biscuits: 150gm
Unsalted Butter: 75gm

Ingredients for Filling

Cream Cheese – 400gm
Sugar – 150gm
Eggs – 2
Vanilla Essence – 1tsp

Serves 10

Method for Base:
Brush your baking tin or dish with butter. Crush Biscuits and add melted butter to it and mix well. Press it down firmly into the bottom of the tin. Place the pan in preheated oven  (180 degrees) for 8 to 10 minutes.

Method for Filling
Cream sugar and cheese and add vanilla essence and mix well. Add one egg at a time till mixed well. Do not over beat the mixture. Pour this cheese mixture in to the baking tin with prepared base. Bake it at 180 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes till it’s set. Leave it in the oven to cool. And then refrigerate it overnight or at least for 4 hours. Before serving let it stand at room temperature for ten minutes. Garnish it with blue berry or strawberry or chocolate.

All set for baking!

Baked and ready to garnish

Dramatic Bedrooms

For the past few days I had a wonderful family staying over at my home and made my space alive and colourful. They were like breath of fresh air, grounded, genuine, always have a zest for life and no time for any kind of drama in their lives. Our lives can be simple, elegant and uncomplicated with a couple of great people and family around us. But today I’d like to bring a little drama in your life through these wonderful pictures of some bedroom with exotic interiors from Elle Décor.

Enjoy these dramatic rooms!

Slider Station Muscat

A restaurant’s success depends on a lot of factors like concept and brand image, quality food & a great menu, location & ambience and turn around on customer feedback. And I am sure there are so many other internal and external factors that I have missed out on. Today’s feature is on a restaurant called Slider Station Muscat, whose success lies in all of the above combination of factors that I just highlighted. Besides their signature dishes like gourmet sliders (mini burgers), burgers, steak, salads, and their soulful desserts I love the interiors of this restaurant.

The industrial chic interiors portray a garage and a gas station concept, decorated with Edison bulbs giving a rustic look.

I am sure most of my readers in Muscat have already visited Slider Station but have you tried their breakfast menu that was launched recently? Few days back I had a hearty breakfast at Sliders which was unforgettable and with some good company that made it more special.

To give you a heads up on what to expect, here is what I tried out at Slider Station.

House of the Month: Residence of Anish and Annie Mathew from Canada

A great start to a new week after my long relaxing weekend. Today I am eager to feature Anish Mathew and Annie Mathew’s family home in Canada who decided to share their warm and inviting space with us. Their living room is minimalistic in style, reflects simplicity and filled with elegance. Annie Mathew besides her passion for painting, cooking, entertaining and flower arrangement, loves to experiment with interiors.

Enjoy the home tour!
